Peninsula Counseling Center's Ongoing Groups

Caregiver's Group at Peninsula Counseling Center is for anyone who is overwhelmed by caring for an ill loved one. Led by Joanne Walters, L.C.S.W, it addresses issues including stress, anxiety depression and learning to take better care of yourself. Project Cares is a Social-Day Program for Men and Women 60 and Over who are considered frail due to physical or mental difficulties. Sponsored by Peninsula Counseling Center, the group meets Monday through Thursday at St. Joseph's Church School Building, Broadway, Hewlett. Transportation provided within a limited area. Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia aged 60 and over are welcome at the Club, a social supportive program sponsored by Peninsula Counseling Center. The club meets Mondays and Wednesdays for women, Tuesdays and Thursdays for men, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1355 Noel Ave., Hewlett. For more information call Ellen Tolle at 374-9253

Eating Disorders Program of Peninsula Counseling Center is forming groups for bulimia and compulsive over-eating. Individual, group and family therapy are also available. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program to help individuals and families recover from the destructive consequences of substance abuse is provided by the Chemical Dependence Treatment Program.
