Project Cares - Program for the Frail Elderly
Project Cares is designed to help frail elderly individuals maintain their independence and the highest possible level of functioning by providing activities geared to their abilities and needs. The program provides members with an opportunity to socialize with others and an essential connection to the outside world. Activities include arts and crafts, cooking, sewing, pool, sculpture, games, exercise, music, and dancing. Individual, family and group counseling is also provided when needed.

Alzheimer Day Program "The Club"
For 15 years "The Club", a social day program sponsored by Peninsula Counseling Center, has been a leader in providing creative programming, education and caring for those with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia's. This program offers a warm and supportive environment in which the member is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Objectives are to foster social support and reduce isolation while strengthening cognitive learning and memory skills. The Club's many social activities for members include a daily exercise program, stimulating discussion groups, music, dancing as well as a variety of opportunities for socialization. Special support groups and individual counseling for members and their families is also part of treatment. The family support groups provide a forum for caregivers to gain insight into the disease process , learn from each others experiences and problem solving techniques to help them cope with the changes caused by the disease.
