Programs for the Psychiatrically Disabled

Gateway Continuing Day Treatment Center
PCC's Gateway program provides supportive and therapeutic care for adults returning to the community after psychiatric hospitalizations and adults who would benefit from a structured experience to prevent hospitalization. Gateway offers a friendly non-threatening atmosphere where members participate in structured activities and socialization, as well as individual and group psychotherapy. Group activities include exercise, photography, cooking, gardening, arts and crafts, poetry, music, assertiveness training, current events and discussion groups regarding men's and women's issues and issues of employment. Specific interest groups are created in response to members' needs. Gateway is designed to encourage individuals to integrate themselves into family and community life.

The Meeting Place Club House
The Meeting Place Clubhouse is a social and recreational program providing adults recovering from psychiatric illness with activities and programs to develop the strength and confidence necessary to integrate more successfully into the community. The Clubhouse is open to adults 18 years and older who need support, skills and socialization opportunities during evenings and weekends. These include people who may already participate in PCC’s other treatment programs in our mental-health centers. Programs are designed with the "whole person" in mind. Groups provide education and information and assist members in developing coping skills. Recreational and social activities include volleyball, softball, arts and crafts, poetry readings, dances, day and evening trips to museums, restaurants, plays, ball games and more - all to foster a sense of well-being and decreased isolation.
